Cookies and local storage

Some of what we store is not technically a cookie. Your sign-in session and privacy choices may live in your browser's local storage, which works similarly from your perspective: it is data kept in your browser until it expires, you sign out, the policy version changes, or you clear your browser storage. We list cookies, local-storage items, pixels, tags, and cookieless analytics below, and apply the same privacy-choice rules to them.

Policy version August 6, 2026. If we make a meaningful change to the providers, purposes, categories, or retention periods covered by your choice, we update the policy version. That clears the saved choice and asks you again. Minor wording or formatting corrections do not require a new choice.

Essential

The minimum needed to keep CollabSong working, protect your account, and remember your privacy choices. Essential storage cannot be switched off through Cookie Settings, and blocking it in your browser may sign you out or break parts of the site.

CollabSong sign-in session

Keeps you signed in as you move around the site. Without it you'd have to request a new login link on every page.

In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Quebec, Google Analytics does not load until you accept Analytics. In other regions, it may operate until you opt out.

Advertising

Advertising technologies help us measure whether an ad brought someone to CollabSong and show CollabSong ads to people who previously visited the site. Turning Advertising off is completely fine.

Depending on the event and your privacy choices, we may send Meta contact identifiers such as your name and email address, along with browser, device, page-view, and conversion information, to improve ad measurement and matching. Contact identifiers are formatted and hashed where required by Meta. We do not intentionally send Meta your application answers, agreements, private messages, deliverables, payout information, or other private collab content.

Meta Pixel

Not currently in use

Helps measure whether a Facebook or Instagram ad brought someone to CollabSong and may support advertising to people who previously visited the site. We use both the browser-based Meta Pixel and Meta's server-side Conversions API. The same Advertising choice controls both.

Where the rules differ

Our handling of Analytics and Advertising depends on the privacy rules that apply where you are.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Quebec. Nothing in the Analytics or Advertising categories runs until you explicitly accept that category. Declining or ignoring the choice means those technologies remain off.

United States and other regions. We provide clear notice and an immediate way to opt out. Where permitted, Analytics and Advertising technologies may operate unless you opt out.

Unknown or uncertain location. If we cannot reliably determine which regional rules apply, Analytics and Advertising remain off until you choose to enable them.

Essential technologies may operate in every region because they are needed to keep you signed in, protect the service, complete requested actions, and remember your privacy choices.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of targeted advertising in every region. A recognized GPC signal prevents Advertising pixels and tags from loading for that browser, overrides a previous Advertising acceptance for that browser, and does not automatically change your separate Analytics choice.

GPC is browser-specific, so you may need to enable it separately on each browser or device. We do not respond to other browser Do Not Track signals, because there is no uniform legal or technical standard for them.

Changing your mind

Use the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page to review or change your choices. When you turn a category off, we delete first-party cookies and local-storage items under our control for that category where technically possible, stop sending new events, and prevent those scripts from loading on future page views.

Changing your choice does not delete information a provider received before you opted out, and CollabSong cannot directly delete cookies stored on another company's domain. Clearing browser storage may erase your saved preference and cause the banner to appear again.

Third-party providers

Third-party analytics and advertising providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. They may combine information received from CollabSong with information from other services where permitted by law and your settings with that provider.

Cookie Settings controls whether CollabSong allows the relevant provider technology to operate on this site. It does not control information a provider already holds from another source, or choices you made inside the provider's own service.
